This committee promotes PTSA membership that runs through February each school year. We reached 100% PTSA membership and 100% staff membership in 2018. Our goal is create community with membership. As a committee member you can help develop and promote the membership campaign.

ISPTSA publishes a weekly newsletter, The Messenger, along with other occasional e-mails to keep our community informed. This includes news from the PTSA, the school, student clubs, the school district and related community organizations. This is the best resource for keeping yourself informed.
Communications from the school include what is published on the school website and the principal newsletter. Associated Student Body (ASB) communicates directly to students each morning via the morning announcements and published in the Titan Times. Titan Times can be found on the school webpage.

Volunteers needed a the MS and HS level are there to support the academic success of IS students. In addition to PTSA programs that are critical to the success of IS, the school needs volunteers too. Multiple Times during the school year
Each year the PTSA grants funds to teachers and other community members to support enrichment programs that benefit students. Examples of past grants include purchasing textbooks and supplies for new courses, band and choir competition entrance fees, equipment for the science, math and PE departments. Typically there are 3 grant cycles in the fall, winter and spring. There is also a special grant cycle associated with the Spring Fundraiser.

The PTSA supports several staff appreciation events throughout the year including providing snacks at parent teacher conferences, holiday dinner, Chinese New Year Celebration and a Spring time luncheon. These events have been supported by classes or community groups.

One goal for PTSA this year is to increase community involvement and participation. ISPTSA has asked two parents from each grade to serve as grade level leads. These parents will plan and/or coordinate a few group activities for parents in the grade so parents can get to know each other, in addition to acting as liaisons to the membership and staff appreciation committees.

The Reflections program is an annual cultural arts competition that involves district, state and national PTA participation. The program affords students an opportunity to showcase their creative talents through self-expression of a wholly-original artwork that is theme-oriented.
There are two age categories available to IS students: (a) Middle/Junior (Grades 6-8) and (b) Senior (Grades 9-12). |
